"THE BATTLE" with the mage begins with violent ferocity. As they trade blows the mage throws everything he has at our hero. Potions, spells, and steel all collide in a haze of magic and might. Our hero finds and opening and lands a killing blow. But the mage will not go quietly. He utters one last curse, binding our hero to himself in death. Sealing our hero in his current form. In order to avoid the same fate as the mage our hero cuts off his own arm to release him from the mages binding spell. The mage falls to his death out the window and our hero destroys everything in sight. Making sure no one can ever continue the mages work.

The mages eyes meet mine from under his hood
My presence and purpose understood
We rush each other, intent to kill
He has his magic, I have skill

I push him to the wall
I punch my fist through his chest
I try to pull back, but I can’t
He smashes vials on my face
As I burn, he begins to chant
As you are now so you shall remain
Though you break the curse you’ll remain the same

As I struggle toward a window, I see a dagger on the wall
I cut through my arm; I see shock as he falls
I watch him tumble and splatter across the ground
To destroy his legacy, I smash every potion found

Chemicals mix with chemical, smoke and fire ignite
I flee to the stairwell, to escape with my life

Flames at my heels, heart in my throat
Explosions above, the tower fills with smoke

Down in the courtyard I see my people change
But I remain a monster as hot wind hits my face

Sometimes when bands move from demo to first release, they lose something: not as fast or not as evil or too produced. This album is not one of them. The recording is cleaner, so you can hear things better than _Rise of Death_ but otherwise, this has the same black thrash from the speed layer of the Abyss sound. Highly recommended for fans of Shakma, Nuclear Revenge, early Kreator, or Gallower. Several horns way up. perverseosmosis
