My eyes strain as I fear the worst
How can I fight something from another realm
Something that mere strength may not overwhelm
Suddenly the beast is on me
Digging its claws into me

I’m lifted off the ground; my sword falls to the floor
I’ve come face to face with a creature from ancient lore
I fight back with talons of my own
Claws and teeth meet flesh and find a home

Its head falls from its body, rolls across the floor
At the end of the hallway I see a vile door
I run to my revenge

I kick the door to the mage’s room
I stand tall, bloody, bruised
There my foe waits within
